Full Description
There aren’t an awful lot of options out there for strong lady skiers looking for a wide-waisted, powerful backcountry freeride ski, but the Kiku (Volkl’s widest girl specific ski) is a great one.
Essentially a Gotama in most respects, with a Multilayer wood core that’s slightly lighter and softer than the Gotama’s Sensorwood version, the Kiku goes down to a 154 for even the shortest girl freeriders.
Denser wood under the binding area gives great stability underfoot while the poplar towards the tip and tail gives plenty of pop. Carbon fibre layers make for power and strength plus plenty of snap.
The wide surface area is great for flotation in soft conditions and the full rocker construction helps the ski glide effortlessly as well as making it less catchy and therefore able to cope with unexpected terrain variations.

TOP TIP
Ski Servicing
Watch out for shops that cut corners – and costs – by hardly ever servicing their skis, or just giving them a quick wax. Unserviced or badly serviced skis can ruin your whole week. Why pay for substandard kit?
