Full Description
Like any beginner ski, the Outland 4x4 is really all about confidence building, so the 4x4 is soft longitudinally to make it easy to initiate the turn even at slow speeds. It’s also pretty soft torsionally to give you time to correct yourself rather than reacting to every movement – a great, forgiving ski.
At 78 mils in the waist, the 4x4 provides a sold and stable platform underfoot. It’s also easy to push about and pivot, ideal if you have a more traditional learning style. The additional width underfoot does mean it does not move from edge to edge as quickly as some other skis in this sort of level, so it’s not easy to go straight to carving.
On Trail Rocker at the tip only also allows for easier pivoting, though the tail is quits straight and therefore the ski will allow a bit less tail skid than some other models.
The additional width and the stability underfoot also means the 4x4 has the strength to support the heavier beginners out there.

TOP TIP
Ski Servicing
Watch out for shops that cut corners – and costs – by hardly ever servicing their skis, or just giving them a quick wax. Unserviced or badly serviced skis can ruin your whole week. Why pay for substandard kit?
