We started up with 36 pairs of skis and we worked out if we could rent 18 of them out a week that would be fine. By Christmas we had to up it to 100 pairs.
The next year we took on a second, bigger shop in the town centre and upped our stock again. Each season, we tried to do things better and our service was very different from the “traditional” French way.
We focussed very much from the beginning on proper professional staff, customer service and the correct advice – even if it meant telling people what boots to buy and where to get them if we didn’t have the right ones!
Cleary our way was what people wanted – by the late 90’s Precision was the most popular shop in town for English speaking clients, and we were voted “European Ski Shop of the Year” 6 years running.
